Why we built Billaily
Managing five apartments in a spreadsheet works fine. Managing 25, 100, or 1,000 apartments across multiple buildings quickly turns monthly utility billing into an administrative bottleneck.
Every month, hundreds of electricity, water, district heating, and communal service PDFs arrive from different local suppliers. Some invoices list only a physical meter serial number instead of an apartment door number. Meanwhile, tenants move in and out mid-month, round up bank transfers creating overpayment credits, or leave behind unpaid balances.
We built Billaily to replace fragile utility spreadsheets with a clean, auditable utility ledger that extracts invoices automatically, maps every meter to its exact apartment unit, splits mid-month tenancies to the exact calendar day, and gives every tenant a clear web statement link.

Our core product principles
1. Constrained exception handling
When a utility PDF is missing an apartment number, you should never scroll through a dropdown of 200 units. Billaily filters the list strictly to the units still missing that utility for that billing month.
2. Continuous tenant balances
Utility billing isn't isolated to a single month. Prior unpaid arrears and negative overpayment credits carry forward automatically from one billing period to the next.
3. No mobile app required for tenants
Tenants shouldn't have to download an app or remember a password just to view their water bill. Every statement is a clean web link showing the original provider PDF and proration math.
